Diamond Back 1983 Pacer 500 Bike Chrome / Black
Diamond Back 1983 Pacer 500 Bike Chrome / Black
Rare Diamondback Pacer 500, the Pacer 500 replaced the Silver Streak (which we are all familiar with) in late 1983 and was made in Taiwan as opposed to Japan, was also then sold as the Viper which used cheaper componentry.
We bought this frame, fork and bars in from a customer, with original chrome and stickers We assembled it with all new parts from MKS, Dia-Compe and Tioga so it rides like a new bike, circa 42 years on. We used as many parts as possible to the original, including sourcing the chairing and making the fluted seatpost two-tone.
According to the frame number, this frame is from the very first month of production, December 1983, made by the Fairly factory in Taiwain. Please see the excellent www.oldschoolbmx.uk website for in-depth information on the Pacer 500 (and other Diamond Back models).
• Diamond Back Pacer 500 frame and fork with ORIGINAL stickers and chrome. Chrome has some scuffs as you expect for a 42 year old frame. Stickers are far from perfect (especially the worn headtube sticker), but you can buy new ones if you like quite easily, or we could source (extra) and apply these for you if that was your preference.
