Why the BBMXHOF is important
Founded in 2022 by the core team of Dale Holmes, Andy Ruffell, Darren O'Neill and Mike Wong. The 2022 and 2023 iterations were held at the NEC, Birmingham. The event had fallow years in 2024 and 2025, but nominees were still inducted in that time. Now after a two year break the BBMXHOF is back, like a racer who has doubled down on their training regime, leaner and meaner than ever...

For me, it is important because it allows the BMX community to get together once a year to catch up and to celebrate not just the big names in BMX but also honour those who may have gone under the radar beyond the March-Ruffell years. And don't forget, none of us are getting any younger and we're losing friends year on year. For example, without the HOF I wouldn't have had the opportunity to chat with Bryan Potter in 2022 and see his amazing collection of photos from Ipswich back in the day, we sadly lost Bryan - a true BMX pioneer - this past year.

L-R: North West BMX Crew: Brian Jones, Terry Lloyd, Jonathan Higginson, Fenwick Carr, Alan Woods, Jason Ramsden, Mark Lavery, Godfrey Burke, Craig Borrows, John Lee, David Arnold.

A preview of this year's programme:

A teaser from our forthcoming film "Not For Sale" by Peter Adam to celebrate 45 years of BMX, see the world debut of the trailer at this year's Hall of Fame. No, that isn't Alan being chased by Tony Slater and John Lee, it's actually Harry Gorman, Tom Justice and Jason Lee (John's son) in a scene from the film:
