One of the biggest jump is when kids are growing and moving up to a 20" wheel bike from an 18". Not just the wheel size but also the increase in wheelbase (length) often means that tricks they can do easily on an 18" they struggle with on a 20" - just think of a simple 180 for example, it's like an adult trying a 360 on a 24" versus a 20". After decades of experience helping kids make this transition, we've built this bike for riders in exactly this predicament.
Starting off with a Colony Cadet frame in short 19.2" toptube. The Cadet is the frame Tom Justice rode before getting his own signature Injustice frame recently. Made from 100% cro-mo of course, with a 13.25” rear, 75.2º head angle, 71º setabube and 11.5″ BB Height. Stand over height is 7.5" (centre of BB shell to centre of TT).
Then, we went to work building this into an absolute park weapon, using our years of experoence but also taking note of what riders competing at the British Cycling Freestyle National series are actually using, like Profile stem, Tall Order Drone cassette hub with 120-point engagement, lightweight Tall Order Keiran Reilly 2.1" tyres, slim pvotal seat and a Snafu Mobeus gyro.
What we created is a bike capable a winning a BC Freestyle event, but at an afforable price. It also, I think you will agree, looks a million dollars. If you want to discuss your own custom build, to you specific budget, or you already have a bike and want help with sizing or getting the weight down, please contact us, we're here to help.
