Fox Racing and Alans BMX

Fox Racing and Alans BMX

FOX and ALANS BMX go way back. Back to 1977 in fact, when we were selling Fox Airshox at Schoolboy Scrambling events. Every Friday my dad would drive up to Barnard Castle in the North East to pick up more Airshox. Our van was painted in Moto-X Fox colours and in 1980 they set up me with a ride in California, complete with a mechanic and box van. Donnie Cantaloupi had just left to ride for Factory Yamaha and they lent me his bike.

So, we're pround to say we're back together with Fox apparel, see the range here

All dreams start somewhere, and for Fox founder, Geoff Fox, it began with a dream job at a small but bustling moto dealership in Santa Clara, California—Grand Prix Cycles. From the seed of a mail-order parts catalog, he created not just a legendary racing team, Moto-X Fox, he grew his dream into a global business, pioneering innovations in product design while redefining the culture of motocross along the way. Fifty years later, we keep that dream alive, taking the torch carried by athletes who have repped the Fox head on the field—Mark Barnett, Brad Lackey, Ricky Johnson, Ricky Carmichael, James Stewart, Ryan Dungey, Shaun Palmer, and Stevie Smith, to name a handful—and passing it on to the next generation of dreamers. We honor Geoff’s vision and passion by continuing to imagine and create the most innovative and technologically advanced moto and mountain bike gear on the planet.

1979, our Moto-X Fox Transit van, Hindley. My dad painted this himself.

March 1980, at Launde Hey Rossendale with Neil Battersby on just-out CR125RA's.

April 1980, Sacremento, California, riding Donnie Cantaloupi's Fox YZ125.

May 1980. Just back from California, first outing on a Yamaha (YZ125G).

A box for Fox Airshox from about 1979 that I found a few years ago. Check the price - £264.00, £900 in today's money. For context a new Suzuki RM100 was around £600 then, so the shocks were almost half the price of a new bike.
