We've collected the top 5 tyres that we see sent to our customers and used by our Team and put together a list for you so you are not sifting through pages and pages of pictures and names.
Different tyres are used for different types of riding so we have added a note to each tyre stating the discipline they are intended for. We are working on a Race and Flatland Tyre Top 5, which is coming soon.
The Demolition BMX Momentum Tyre is our #1 best seller. These lightweight tyres have large blocks and takes upto 110psi and are perfect for Skatepark, Street and Pump Track use. Being a lighter tyre they dont have quite as much puncture protection but these are the prefered tyre of team rider James 'Bear' Heyes and if you've seen the stunts he pulls you know these are upto the task. AND they are one of he cheapest tyres on the market, so you can afford to keep your rubber fresh.
The Demolition Momentum comes in three different widths - 2.0, 2.2 and 2.4". The 2.4 is quite wide when compared to other brands so if you dont have a modern BMX Bike with clearance for wide tyres in the fork or back end we would suggest the 2.2. The 2.0 version is also great for oldschool bikes in the Momentum White Wall colourway.
The Odyssey Path Pro Tyre has been a staple for BMXers for a long time. Odyssey is a brand we all know and trust and the Path Pro is a modern version of the classic Path tyre thats been around for since the early 2000's and was used by riders such as Gary Young and more. This 100psi tyre is redesigned to meet today's riding standards, with a smooth and fast rolling centre and micro knurled side tread its as fast as it gets. These are a favourite with alot of Street riders and Park riders but can be a bit dicey in the wet.
The Animal Bikes GLH BMX Tyre has been a staple of street riders for a long time now. With its super tough sidewall and thick tread its at home on the streets sliding against ledges and rails. Taking upto 110PSI its Dual Ply sidewalls also mean you can run them quite low. A true modern classic. Also available in folding kevlar bead if you want a lighter weight version.
The BSD Donnastreet Tyre blew up as the go to tyre for technical street riding. Championed by the one and only Alex Donnachie it quickly became the fast rolling grippy tyre everyone wanted. Since its launch its had alot of colour options, BSD is always changing these so if you want to colour match your ride but use a quality tyre, the Donnastreet is the one. Rated upto 110psi and also available in a folding kevlar bead version. Also, folding tyres are handy as you can carry one in your backpack as a spare :)
Another tyre from éclat? YES! A firm favourite of team rider Tom Cookson the Eclat Mirage Tyre is super light. With its SilkShield compound wrapping the whole tyre its designed as a rough and ready street tyre thats light enough for the skatepark and ramps. Taking upto 110psi, available in multiple widths and again with a kevlar folding bead option.
If you want to cut down on weight - and remember reducing rotating bike helps your bike roll faster - you should pair your tyres up with the new super lightweight TPU inner tubes from Tublito, RevoLoop and RideNow.
