Race Inc RA29 Custom 29 Inch Custom Bike Gold / Black

One of the originators of aluminum BMX frame, Race Inc. started around 1974 after Bill Bastian made aluminum prototypes for Kawasaki built by Triple A which was run by Marshall Yocum. Bill Bastian was an employee. He left Triple A & went on to start Race Inc. They started making BMX handlebars & seatposts & in 1976 released the Race Inc. RA-7, the first mass produced aluminum BMX frame. 

As well as being sold under Race Inc.'s name, the RA-7 was sold as FMF (Team Replica) & Peugeot (CPX-500) in 1976, Cycle Pro (Spoiler & Foiler) in 1977, Laguna (GT) in 1978, & SE Racing (Basher - 2nd type) in 1982. The Airfoil design was only sold under Race Inc. & Cycle Pro. Race Inc. also made a frame for Raleigh (Rampar) with a 19" top tube. It looks like an RA-9 but has the classic Race Inc. front gusset, which the RA-9 does not have.

This new Race Inc R29 custom build, fresh out of our workshop, uses the RA29 frame in this amazing anodised gold with the iconic Bottema forks and we think it came out pretty, pretty, good - keeping all the old school aesthetic on a bike you can blast around on, blast on the gravel and even ride the pump track should you wish. We didn't scrimp on the spec, going with Redline Flight cranks and custom built Halo wheels shod with skinwall Twin Rail tyres.

BOTTEMA FORK FEATURES
American BMX Company & Jeff Bottema have joined forces and updated the legendary Botema forks with modern dimensions, like 1 1/8” threadless steerer tubes, oversize 1 1/8” legs and 4mm thick, laser-cut dropouts, while retaining the original design language. These new Bottema forks are built by Tange from 100% 4130-chromoly tubing and feature an innovative dropout and dropout-saver design that works equally well with 10 and 20mm hub axles.
