SCG Shoe Co LoPro BMX Shoe Black Canvas / Gum
PLEASE NOTE: SDG shoe size conversion is wrong on the label (it is correct on the box). So if you order a UK 9 you will receive a US 10.
The shoe of choice for our man Tom Justice, the LoPro was designed and developed to withstand the abuse of riding BMX, MTB, and skating, while remaining comfortable and stylish for everyday wear.
This riding shoe is designed to be a more Low Profile around and under the ankle bone than our signature Sound model, giving greater freedom of movement and a less restricted feel. The cut is lower in the front and straight cut under the ankle bone.
It features a full-length EVA midsole, along with our custom polyurethane insole to be high-impact resistant and durable.
The outsole is 400 NBS rubber for wear resistance, with a herringbone tread pattern to keep it gripping your pedal pins, no matter the shape. Over 5mm of rubber across the entire outsole prevents tears and as your shoe wears, the grip isn't compromised.
It is both glued and stitched around the entire outsole for durability with light padding around the ankle.
MADE FOR RIDERS, BY RIDERS — SINCE 1999
SCg Shoe Co. was born from necessity and passion. In 1999, after a skatepark crash exposed the shortcomings of traditional skate shoes for BMX riding, founder Steven Caro envisioned a better solution. Drawing from his architectural background, he designed a shoe tailored specifically for riders. This vision led to the creation of SCg—the first rider-owned and operated shoe company in the BMX world.
Our roots run deep in the BMX scene of Greenville, North Carolina, known as "Pro Town." Over the years, we've expanded our reach to encompass mountain biking, skateboarding, motocross, and surfing, all while staying true to our core mission: crafting durable, high-performance footwear for riders.
OWNED AND OPERATED BY RIDERS
Unlike many brands, SCg is entirely rider-owned and operated. This means every decision—from design to production—is made with firsthand knowledge of what riders need. Our commitment to the community ensures that our products are not only functional but also resonate with the spirit of action sports.
OUR OWN FACTORY: QUALITY WITHOUT COMPROMISE
In an industry where outsourcing is the norm, SCg stands apart by owning and operating our own manufacturing facility in Bogotá, Colombia. This hands-on approach allows us to maintain rigorous quality control, ensure ethical labor practices, and innovate without constraints. By controlling every aspect of production, we deliver superior products that meet the exacting standards of our community.
Part of our production philosophy is that our workers are of ultimate value. Without them, our designs remain just that—designs. We’ve eliminated the traditional "piece work" model focused on maximum output. Instead, we pay salaries based on high-output benchmarks but only require about 75% of that volume, prioritizing quality over quantity. This results in better products, lower stress on our crew, and stronger relationships. We share time over lunches and dinners and keep people at the center of everything we do.
SUSTAINABLE SOURCING: RESPONSIBILITY IN EVERY STEP
We take pride in sourcing all our materials sustainably from Mexico, Spain, France, and South America—specifically Colombia, Argentina, and Brazil. By avoiding Asian supply chains, we reduce our carbon footprint and support local economies. Our commitment to sustainability is not just about materials; it's about making choices that reflect our values and responsibility to the planet.
We’ve used 100% post-consumer content cardboard for packaging for over a decade, printed in a minimalist style with black ink that’s easy to recycle. Excess polyurethane from insole production is ground up and reintegrated into new components. And starting in January 2023, we began incorporating ground-up commercial truck tires into the foam used in our padded tongues and sidewalls—creating a thinner, denser, and more durable foam that helps reduce tire waste.
DESIGNED FOR PERFORMANCE AND STYLE
From our original "Tyrant" model to our latest innovations, every SCg shoe is designed with the rider in mind. Features like stitched and glued soles prevent delamination, while our signature herringbone "V" pattern outsole offers exceptional grip and pedal feel. Whether you're hitting the trails, the streets, the skatepark, or just out on the town or at the pub, SCg shoes provide the performance and style you need.
Being a smaller brand, we have to make higher-quality products than the rest of the market while keeping our pricing competitive. We use premium materials—including Spanish and German adhesives, French waterproofing agents, Mexican textiles, and high-end Colombian, Argentinian, and Spanish hides—and produce almost everything ourselves in Colombia. Our build quality, stitching, and production efficiencies are all geared toward making the best product possible.
