Named after the city where SKILLDASH was born, SOFIA represents a vibrant BMX community defying expectations. Designed by riders and crafted in Portugal with premium Spanish vegan suede, it delivers everything you'd expect from a high-performance European BMX shoe. But this shoe means more than a list of features. SOFIA stands for what BMX culture is beyond riding: pushing forward, connecting with like-minded people, and expressing one's own creativity. On and off the bike. SOFIA is a statement of BMX culture.
Made with premium vegan materials and crafted using ethical European production practices, SOFIA is tough on the streets but kind to the planet.
We spent two years designing a BMX sole that grips, protects, and lasts. The Sofia sole. Made in Europe. We took a worn-out sole from riding to guide us on how to create a BMX-specific sole that holds up, grips and takes impact where it needs to. We ended up with 4 different hexagon pattern types placed in strategic areas of the sole to balance grip and durability. Some hexagons are more solid for durability, others are more open for extra pedal grip.
The two big hexagons at the toes and the heel are the impact points. There’s more material there to absorb the impact from those heavy landings. They also increase the durability of the whole sole by protecting the rest of the pattern when in contact with the ground.
In simple words, you want your shoe to be more grippy on the pedal and more durable everywhere else, especially around the zones you brake with.
We also chose the cupsole structure because it offers superior impact protection, support, and durability in contrast to the common vulcanised soles. That means your feet stay protected, your shoes last longer, and your ride feels more solid.
The result is a sole that grips, protects and can take a beating.
