Mongoose 1978 Motomag Bike Blue / Gold
This is a one-off total custom build, assembled here in-house in Wigan with all new parts by our expert mechanic Adam. Of course the new - now sold out - Motomag wheels take pride of place on this build. Dia-Compe brakes front and rear, Kashimax seat, along with a hand-picked selection of parts ensure that bike will turn heads! Looks stunning in the sun, take on rideouts or hang in your mancave.
Mongoose was such an important brand in BMX, especially here in the UK - they were the very first "real" BMX bikes we had here back in 1980 and I had a Supergoose myself back then.
PLEASE NOTE: All our old school bikes are built for collectors and cruising around on/ride outs, they are not designed for track or freestyle use. Haro's Lineage series and the GT Heritage Pro Performer bikes are the ones to go for if you plan on doing some serious BMXing. If you have any questions about this, please ask.
Full build list:
Mongoose 1978 frame. Frame number: CF8 XXXXX - denoting made from Chromoly, August 1978 manufacture. Metallic Blue with new stickers. PLEASE NOTE: The rear droputs on this frame had some marks so we had the paint mixed and professionally blended in, HOWEVER despite our best efforts the blue is a bit darker - please see the last close up photo that shows this. The paint we used is included in the sale.
Mongoose by Tange TX1200 forks.
Nitto Pro bars, 8"x28" made in Japan.

A'ME waffle grips. We chose these because they suit the year more than Rounds or Tri's.
