An icon of the 1980s BMX scene, the Firebird Freestyler is back. And it's ready to fly. Engineered in conjunction with John Buultjens; John as you will know, created the Haro Lineage line and developed the recent Hutch Trick Star bikes. If you were going to have a modern DP, this is the guy you'd want working it. Behind the whole project is Neil Park - son of Dave (ie/ D.P.) - who is fulfilling a lifelong dream to honour his father's legacy with a modern Firebird Freestyler.
Privateer Model
To deliver a more affordable complete bike than the Neil Park-spec'd Elite model we have teamed up with United Bike Co. to supply the aftermarket components for this build (plus some BSD tanwall tyres). This connection has greater historical significance, as United's Ian Morrris had a DP Freestyler back in the day:
"Back in 83 or maybe ’84 my first real freestyle frame: the DP Firebird Freestyler. My great-grandma came through with the cash so I could grab it from Steve’s Cycles in Bangor—pretty sure it set me back about £74.99. A few months later, the DP Team including Charlie Reynolds rolled through for a shop stop, and they were stoked I was repping DP!"

In Lineage tradition, these framesets use all modern fitments (1 1/8" forks, integrated headset, Mid BB, 25.4mm seatpost, u-brakes) and geometry, but pays tribute to the OG Firebird Freestyler with the look and fine attention to detail. You could ride this straight from an Old School bike show to a Pro park contest and rip it up! Only comes in one size - 20.8", a good compromise between 20.5" and 21".
Excitement is at a level that we haven't seen for anything in a while for these kits, each frame with be numbered up to 100 for each colour, Chrome and Metallic White.

We will be offering 3 levels of complete bike builds, but you can of course let your imagination go wild and spec this how you want it, we can assemble it for you, or you can enjoy doing it yourself.

What are the delivery times?
We offer multiple shipping options for UK customers including Royal Mail Tracked 48/24 services, APC Overnite and Saturday delivery. You can find these at checkout.

Do the bikes arrive pre-built or will they need to be assembled?
Bikes arrive in a flatpack state and require the Handlebars, Seat, Pedals, Accessories and adjustment by a qualified cycle mechanic for the warranty to be valid. We do offer our Ready2Ride service where we build the bike here at the shop from our mechanics, adjust everything and keep your warranty intact, all you need to do is turn the bars straight and attach the pedals and you are ready to shred! There is an additional cost due to the oversize box and you can find this as an option on the product page for bikes 20 inch or smaller or contact us.
